We are proud to announce that we are participating in Negroni Week this year.
Imbibe Magazine started Negroni Week in 2013 to celebrate one of the world’s great cocktails and an effort to raise money for charities around the world. Since then, the event has grown from 120 participating venues to almost 10,000 venues around the world, and together they have collectively raised about $2 million for charitable causes.
Each participating venue gets to choose how, how much, and to which charity they will be donating to.
We have decided to donate $4 to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital for every Negroni sold during Negroni Week.
St Jude’s Children’s Hospital is a leader in childhood cancer research and treatment and no child is ever denied treatment based on race, religion, or a family's ability to pay. Their mission is to advance cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Unlike other hospitals, the majority of their funding comes from individual contributions. And thanks to these donations, families never receive a bill for care.
So our hope is that you will come with your friends and family and enjoy a Negroni or more this week. If you already have a favorite cocktail, consider switching it up for this old time classic this once and help us make a dent in the fight against childhood cancer. Your gesture will be deeply appreciated and maybe you’ll discover a new favorite drink!
The Negroni has been around for 100 years now, and if you like Aperol spritz this might be an interesting alternative. It’s a mixture of Campari, Gin, and Sweet Vermouth - refreshing and a little bitter.
It was invented by Count Negroni in Florence, as a variation on another classic cocktail, the Americano (Campari, sweet vermouth, and soda water), the Count asked his bartender to stiffen his drink with Gin instead of soda.
